On arrival in Cape Town you will be met and transferred to the picturesque village of Franschoek in the Cape winelands, where you check in at the Franschoek Country House for (3) nights on a bed and breakfast basis, where you have the time to soak up the post card beautiful setting.
Today you will be collected from your hotel and taken on a private guided full day tour of the Cape Winelands, including lunch. The days itinerary will include a leisurely exploration of the historic Wine Route towns. Highlights of the day include a visit to Stellenbosch with its tree lined streets, historical architecture, alfresco cafés and good shopping.
We pass through the Franschhoek Valley with its endless mountain vistas, and stop in Paarl, “the pearl of the Cape” and home to the Afrikaans language. Cape Dutch architecture is highlighted as we visit the acclaimed Boschendal Manor House and
some fine wine tasting and a cellar tour is enjoyed on some of the best Cape Wine Estates.
Today you will be collected from your hotel and spend a full day exploring the Cape Peninsula with lunch. The highlights of the days itinerary include a visit to the craggy Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, a stop at the famous Boulders Beach Penguin Colony. We pass through Hout Bay and allow for an boat trip to Seal Colony (optional extra). We drive through the historical naval town of Simon’s Town, and the chance always exists of seeing baboons, bontebok, ostriches, bird life and the Southern Right Whales (seasonal). The day is completed with a visit to the ornate Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
This morning you will be transferred back to the Cape Town International Airport where you board a flight to Johannesburg. Here you connect with another flight to the small bush town of Hoedspruit adjacent to the mid western edge of the Kruger Park. On arrival at the Eastgate Airport you will be met and transferred to the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, and taken to the Chapungu Luxury Tented Camp where you spend the next (3) nights on a fully inclusive basis.
Set in the classic Africa bush setting of Thornybush Game Reserve, this luxury tented camp overlooks the thornveld in which all of Africa’s big 5 exist. With just eight luxury tents this camp makes for an intimate experience, quiet and peaceful. Each tent has private facilities which also include a romantic bushveld bath. Wooden deck paths join the various parts of the camp to thee main area.
Twice daily guided game drive safaris in open safari vehicles and / or guided walks are undertaken in the early morning and late afternoon – evening. The middle of your day is left for you to decide. Some relaxation is often on the cards for most safari guests, but the option for a treatment at the Amani African Spas might just be the thing to do.
This morning after your game drive and breakfast you will be transferred back to Eastgate Airport where you board your flight back to Johannesburg.
