Rajasthan is a northern Indian state bordering Pakistan. Its palaces and forts are reminders of the many kingdoms that historically vied for the region. In its capital, Jaipur (the “Pink City”), are the 18th-century City Palace and Hawa Mahal, a former cloister for royal women, fronted by a 5-story pink-sandstone screen. Amer Fort, atop a nearby hill, was built by a Rajput prince in the early 1600s.

Morning drive to Jaipur, Pink city & capitol of colorful Rajasthan State. Visit Amber Fort, the ancient capital of Rajput Empire, view the Sheesh Mahal, Dewan-e-Khas & Dewan-e-Aam inside the Fort. Photo stop at Jal Mahal. Visit City Palace & Museum, where the Maharaja reigned from. This includes famous ‘Chandra and Mubarak Mahal’, It was built between 1729-32AD by Sawai Jai Singh II. Also visit Observatory built in 18th century by Jai Singh, a famous astronomer & drive past Hawa Mahal. Overnight at K.K. Royal/Clarks Inn.
Today drive to Jodhpur enruote visit Pushkar, see the famous Brahama Temple & Pushkar Lake. Continue to Jodhpur, and upon arrival, check-into The Fern. Overnight.
Jodhpur is the former capital of Mewar State, and today visit the Mehrangarh fort, intricately adorned with exquisite panels and latticed windows. The Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are worth visiting. Drive past Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble Cenotaph. Afternoon drive to Udaipur enruote visit Ranakpur, renowned for marvelously carved Jain temples in amber stone. In 15th century, Rana Kumbha of Mewar gave this large stretch of land in a quiet valley to the Jain community. Though over 500 Yrs old these temples are well preserved. Built in 15th century, and temple sprawling over 48000 Sq feet, the temple is an astounding creation of 29 halls, 80 domes & 1444 pillars, all distinctly carved of which no two are alike. Continue to Udaipur & Check-in at Rajdarshan/Rajputana Resort or similar.
Visit Jagdish Temple and continue on to the City Palace, with its carved balconies, arches and decorated pillars. it overlooks the blue waters of the Pichola Lake in which ethereal like is the Lake Palace. Further on are the Sahelion ki Bari gardens, with its delicately carved kiosks and fountains. Afternoon free.
Drive to Jaipur enruote visit Chittorgarh to see the Victory Tower, built to commemorate Rana Kumbha’s victory over the Sultan of Gujrat. Continue to Jaipur, Overnight at K.K. Royal / Clarks Inn
Morning drive 5.5 hrs to Delhi airport for your onward return flight.
